More Little Hats and Other Random Thoughts

I am  seeing the beginning of an inventory! I have several little hats made. Pictures soon to follow. I will have sizes from preemie/small newborn to 12 months.  Larger hats available on a custom basis. I am having so much fun experimenting with different stitch combinations to make designs. So far my hats are like snowflakes--no two have been alike  :) I wonder if I will be able to duplicate my designs. Some for sure, yes. I have an adorable little hat that I finished a couple of nights ago. When placed on an itty bitty head the hat will make ears. Can't wait for a little model to try that one out!

I have other Itty Bittys that I want to knit before I launch a Facebook page. I'm glad I held my March 1 launch date loosely, because I want more inventory. I'm in no rush! I have one itty bitty mitten that matches a hat. I have to knit the other little mitten yet.  I may knit wee mittens to match some of the other hats as well.

I found a great pattern for felted dryer balls and felted soap holders. So much fun!

It's a great day to be inside knitting! We had a snowstorm overnight and into this morning, thousands upon thousands of fat white snow globe like flakes falling gently from the sky.  The landscape is brilliantly white as the sun peeks through now and then. I love the "diamonds" in the snow when the sun shines. It looks like a vast treasure stretching as far as one can see. It's a good day to slow down and just "be." I wonder how many diamond moments we miss because we fly through the day instead of taking a good look around. Knitting helps me to slow down and live in the moment. One loop at a time a fabric takes shape. One row at a time a garment takes shape. One moment, one day at a time a life takes shape....don't miss your "diamond moments"

Itty Bitty Knitty Bits

I've been chuckling over the wee little hats that are coming off my knitting needles. It really is fun to start knitting and make it up as I go!

I have learned the magic loop technique ; it works very wells with small hats and wee mittens. It's easier on my hands too. I have learned to knit on two circulars as well. I like both techniques. I don't see myself using dpns too often in the future. Thanks to my yarnie buds Emily and Kendra for showing me the ropes

My little inventory is growing slowly. I am having a little trouble sizing my newborn hats. I had an adorable newborn model a couple of weeks ago. He was very cooperative and sooo cute.
I have a little mitten to knit to complete a hat and mitten set in lavender.  I have ears to knit on a rainbow multi hat. That one of going to be very cute. These are instant gratification projects--done in three hours or less.

I am not stressing about building my inventory. It's my business and I can launch any time I am ready!  That occurred to me the other day as I was fretting over lack of progress.

I am nursing an injured knee. Waiting on MRI results to see if I will be having surgery. I will have lots of time on my hands if that is the case. At least for a week or so. I'm glad I love to knit and read, or being on "take it easy" orders would be infinitely harder.

I guess I'm going to have to start participating in the  "Sit and be Fit" shows on PBS heehee.  Gotta do something other than watch my bum get bigger as I sit around!

I think I will start my other hand warmer to match my cowl. That will be another quick knit.Since it has become colder again I think about those things. When it gets warm,  ☼ the warm weather gear is put on the back burner so to speak.

I am ready to begin a more challenging project. I'm going to look through my patterns. I think the next thing to be cast on is a shawl-ette pattern in a lovely peach.

Happy Knitting!
